Smith Rocks

It is definitely a worthwhile trip to go see this beautiful park, only about a 40 minute drive from Sisters. A great hike any time of year along the Crooked River. It is generally warmer in the canyon, so it is a great hike in cooler weather. In the warm months plan to go in the morning as it get quite warm. Smith Rocks is a popular rock climbing area also, if you`re not into it, it is still fun to watch others who are.

The trail system is intended for recreation, commuting, and access in and around the greater Sisters area. It`s a trail system for everyone, from the residents of Cloverdale and Tollgate to the citizens of Crossroads and Aspen Lakes. It`s a trail system that will make the Sisters area a better place to live, connecting us to our community and each other.

The highway will be closed so to enjoy a ride through lava flows that are thousands of years old makes this event one of a kind.

An XC Ride to Remember! May 29th Race your bike on the beautiful Peterson Ridge Trail in Sisters, Oregon. The Sisters Stampede, now in it`s third year, became the largest Mountain bike race in Oregon in 2011. There is something for everyone with 25 different race categories, and a party at the finish line! Mileage options: 12mi. (beginner), 26mi. (novice/advanced), 28mi. (advanced). $1,000 Cash prizes for top three Men and Women - either Pro or Cat 1. Overall Men`s winner, and Women`s winner will receive a custom Stampede belt buckle, and one-night lodging at Five Pine Lodge, Dinner for two at Three Creeks Brewing, and a movie for two at The Sisters Movie House. Top three overall winners are placed in their individual categories and are eligible for category prizes too. Each Category winner will get a 21oz. mug from Three Creeks Brewing. Other prizes and raffle items will include products from Specialized, Rudy Project, Benders Ink, Sisters Coffee, and more! Take advantage of Memorial day weekend and make it a family affair. Peterson Rumble Trail Run

Peterson Rumble Trail Run

This is a fun, low-key event utilizing the Peterson Ridge and Metolius-Windigo multi-use trails near Sisters, Oregon. So, bring a great sense of adventure, and you`ll enjoy it! To stay true to the low-key vibe of the event, dogs are allowed in the 20 mile race (sorry, no dogs in the 40 mile). Both races will start and finish at Sisters Middle School. There are two distances in the event: 40 mile and 20 mile options. This is a fundraiser for the Sisters High School Cross Country team. Many of the volunteers will be cross country team members. The 40 mile is part of the Oregon Trail Ultra Series.
