Can we clean up after ourselves and save some money?
The short answer is no, but please let us explain; we want you to come to one of our rentals to relax and not have to clean the tub before you dare set foot in it, or wonder if you really want to crawl into the bed, and the only way we can guarantee that and maintain our high standard of cleanliness is to have our professional staff do the cleaning. Everyone benefits from it. We know from our own experience that everyone's clean is not the same, because we have cleaned rentals for homeowners where the renter is supposed to do the cleaning and it is not a pleasant experience for anyone, especially if you are the lucky one who comes in after the folks who's attitude was "It's good enough, we're out of here".
You're on vacation and let's face it most folks don't want to spend 4 to 6 hours cleaning toilets, vacuuming, doing laundry, making beds, etc. before they load up to head home, the cleaning fee is money well spent. We also believe in providing living wage jobs for our cleaning staff, who are our community members, they are insured professionals and work very efficiently.
What should we bring to our rental?
Any personal items you think you would like to have or need while on vacation. There is a very nice grocery store, Ray's Food Place, to get any food & drink items. There is also a Bi-Mart and very nice hardware store, Ace Hardware, to pick-up needed items. For course there are lots of shops in town for clothing, shoes, art, most anything you would need. We don't have any big box stores in Sisters, you will have to go to Bend or Redmond, 20 minutes, for those.
Can we walk to town?
Please see individual rentals for proximity to town.
How far is it to go skiing?
For downhill skiing:
Hoodoo is 20 to 30 minutes depending on the road conditions,
Mount Bachelor is about 45 min. to an hour, depending on road conditions.
For cross country skiing:
It depends on much snow we have, on a snowy winter, it could be out the back door or as close as 5 to 10 miles up towards Three Creeks Lake or up the McKenzie or Santiam pass.
We have more people than the maximum occupancy allowed at the rental, we don't mind throwing sleeping bags on the floor. Is that a big deal?
Yes, we believe in living by the Golden Rule, "treat others as you have them treat you." In respect for the homeowners, who has generously made their home available for you and others to enjoy, overloading a rental causes too much wear and tear on a home and it's utilities, and there are additional cleaning requirements with more people. For your comfort and safety, each rental is set up and priced to handle a maximum number of occupants. If you have more folks than one home will accommodate, you may need more than one rental. If you have one extra person and are curious if we would allow that, please give us a call and will let you know. Simply put, you expect honesty from us and we in turn expect honesty from you. In addition, lying about how many guests you will have, may lead to unfortunate events (not to mention ruining your vacation), which can lead to additional charges, penalties and even evictions, so our advice: Report the correct number of guests so you can enjoy your vacation and live with a clear conscious.
Are any of the rentals pet friendly?
We do have several dog friendly rentals, to search for our dog friendly rentals, select check the dog friendly option when searching. Dogs only, no cats or other pets sorry.
Do you allow smoking in any of your rentals?
No, all of our rentals are Non-Smoking. There will be a $500 fee if smoking is detected in the rental after your departure, plus cleaning charge for professional dry cleaning. If you smoke, please dispose of your distinguished butts in a responsible manner, that means don't leave them on the property.
We are bringing our well behaved dog, but don't want to pay the additional pet fee, so we are going to sneak the dog in.
Some homeowners have graciously chosen to allow you to bring your dog and some have decided not to allow dogs in their home for varying reasons; allergies, risk of damage, etc. and we all need to respect their wishes. We do need to know ahead of time if you are bringing your best doggy friend, no sneaking allowed. If we discover you have brought an unauthorized pet to a rental, there will be a $250 charge and you will be asked to leave without a refund. The pet fee covers the privilege of you being allowed to have your dog with you and covers additional clean up required when a dog is a guest and we want to ensure that the home, furniture and property are fresh and clean for the next guests.
Our dog is well behaved and we are sure it won't cause any damage, so we are going to bring it to our rental that is not dog friendly, no one will ever know.
If you decide to bring a dog to a home that is not pet friendly you will be evicted without refund and will be charged up to $500 cleaning fee to remove pet dander.
We are bringing our dog to one of your dog friendly rentals, can we leave it at the rental alone while we go out?
Sorry, dogs are not allowed to be left alone at the rental, inside or outside, unless you bring a crate for it to be in, none are provided. Never plan to leave your dog in a crate for more than an hour at a time, thank you. Our weather isn't usually conducive to leaving your dog in the car for very long, it's too warm in the summer and too cold in the winter. If you are planning to bring your dog, please be sure your plans can include taking your dog with you.
Can you recommend any good restaurants in Sisters?
Yes, there is information in the rental with recommendations, please check it out when you arrive.
